Kesri sidelines Pawar, ChavanCongress president Sitaram Kesri has clipped the wings of Maharashtra stalwarts Sharad Pawar and S B Chavan by sidelining the two leaders in the party's election committees. Sources said Pawar, who played a significant role in the 1996 general election as a member of the Congress election manifesto committee, has been ignored as Kesri has serious reservations about his loyalty. The Congress chief fears that Pawar will displace him if the party suffers a drubbing at the hustings. Interestingly, another former Maharashtra chief minister Sudhakarao Naik, who was recently summoned to Delhi by Kesri, does not figure in the committees.
