Jaipur blast toll rises to 64

With one more person succumbing to his injuries, the death toll in Tuesday's serial blasts in the pink city has gone up to 64, a hospital official said on Thursday.

Pratima Baswal, a spokesperson of the Santokba Durlabji Hospital said that with Ghanshyam Anand's (30) death, the death toll has gone up to 64. Of the 52 injured in the blasts, 25 of them were discharged after first aid and 27 were admitted to the hospital and one of them died later in the night, Baswal said adding that two of the injured were discharged on Wednesday.

According to superintendent of the Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Dr Narpat Singh Shekhawat, of the 152 injured in the blasts and admitted to the hospital, the condition of six was critical. In total 140 injured patients and six of them in critical condition were in the S M S Hospital, Shekhawat said.

The Tuesday serial bomb blasts initially had left 45 dead on the spot and 209 injured.

Of the 209 injured 12 of them succumbed to their injuries in the SMS Hospital and seven others in the Santokba Durlabji hospital, sources said.
