The Gujarat government on Sunday constituted a special coordination committee, headed by the principal secretary of the home department, to coordinate between the Central security agencies and the state agencies.

Minister of State for Home Amit Shah said the Ahmedabad blasts were part of series of explosions that has rocked the country in the last three years. "Blasts in Ahmedabad cannot be seen in isolated conditions," he told reporters in Gandhinagar.

Shah said decision to form the committee was taken at a special cabinet meeting called on Sunday morning to assess the situation after the serial blasts.

The committee will have four other members, which includes state director general of police, state IB chief, law secretary and director of directorate of forensic science.

The committee will co-ordinate between the security agencies of the Centre and other states with state police to find out the culprits of the blasts, Shah added.

The committee will also study information available with Central agencies and other state agencies on earlier blasts and try to find out how it will help in investigating Ahmedabad blasts case.

Forty-five people have died and more than 145 people injured in 16 serial blasts that rocked Ahmedabad on Saturday.
