Film star Shah Rukh Khan, who will anchor the re-launched game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 in place of Amitabh Bachchan, has denied that he has political ambitions and said he will not be campaigning for the Congress in the coming assembly elections.

"For me, all parties are equal. I am 42 and I have no knowledge of politics. I am not selfless nor do I have the perseverance required to be in politics. I respect those who are doing a good job in this field," Khan said, answering questions from the media on whether he will enter politics.

"I am better off as an actor and I would tell god that if I were to be reborn, I should become an actor. Becoming an actor is the greatest thing in the world," he added.

He denied that the Congress offered him a Rajya Sabha seat.

"No, this is not true. Nobody offered me a Rajya Sabha seat," he said.

Responding to a question on whether he promised to campaign for the Congress in the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Khan said his schedule is packed during period in question and that there were no dates left for him to campaign.

Khan is very close to the Gandhi family.
