A Japanese woman has alleged that she was raped and robbed of Rs 54,000 by the son of a hotel owner in Pushkar earlier in April after being drugged, police said on Wednesday.

The woman faxed her complaint to the Superintendent of Police, Ajmer, on Tuesday alleging she was raped by 22-year-old Babloo, the son of a local hotel owner, on April 2, after being given 'bhang', Station House Officer, Pushkar, Sugar Singh Rathore told PTI.

Singh, who is probing the matter, said the complainant also alleged that Rs 54,000 was taken away by the accused. The fax message was sent by the woman from Agra and a case has been registered in this regard. The Japan Embassy in New Delhi has been informed about the complaint, Singh, who has rushed to Agra to record the woman's statement, said.

No arrests have been made in this connection, he said.

The son of a top Orissa officer was sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment last week for raping a German woman in Alwar. B H Mohanti, an MBA student, was sentenced by Fast Track Court, Alwar, on April 12 for raping the 26-year-old research scholar from Berlin on the intervening night of March 20-21 in a hotel.
