District police on Tuesday arrested five persons, including the main accused, in the Indian Oil Corporation sales manager S Manjunath's murder case from Gola area.

Manjunath, a 27-year-old computer engineer, was shot dead in the district two days ago. The IIM Lucknow graduate had angered a petrol pump owner, Monu Mittal, when he sealed his pump after irregularities were detected some days ago.

Mittal and four others are the main accused. Circle officer of Gola K K Verma said they have been arrested based on the statements of two other men who had been found trying to dispose of Manjunath's body in the neighbouring Sitapur district on November 20.

Manjunath's body, which was found ridden with bullets in his car, was flown to his family in Bangalore.

IOC has terminated the dealership of Mittal Automobiles and officials have asked for more protection for IOC employees.
