The Centre might appoint a political negotiator to further the Naga peace process, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani said on Monday.

"... that is a matter we have to decide when the time comes," he said on board a special aircraft.

Regarding the ongoing talks with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah), he said the outfit's leaders, who came to New Delhi, had got the feeling that "this government is earnest and sincerely wants to promote the peace process".

He said the fact that Isak Chishi Swu and Th Muivah had come to the country to hold peace parleys was in itself a breakthrough.

Asked when the political parleys would begin, Advani said it would take some time.

"It is our democratic tradition that makes us to have talks with the NSCN (I-M), Bodos and others," he said.
