Pakistani troops resort to shelling along the LoC

Pakistani troops resorted to shelling and firing from across the Line of Control and international border on various sectors from Siachen Glacier to Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night, a Northern Command spokesman said.

They resorted to artillery shelling in Yaldor and Hadanbrox in Kargil, Moshkoh in Drass sector and Dawar in Gurez sector of Kupwara district.

Close to 60 artillery shells were fired by the Pakistani troops, the spokesman said.

In the Batalick sector of Kargil district and Siachen Glacier, Pakistani troops resorted to machine gunfire, adding small arms and mortar fire was also seen in Mendhar sector of Poonch district. Intermittent small arms firing from across the border was witnessed all along the international border from Akhnoor to Hirangar sectors, he said.

But, there was no loss of life or damage on the Indian side, the spokesman said. He added that casualty on the other side was not known.
