Al-Umar chief reportedly detained in PoK

Chief of the Al-Umar Mujahideen Mushtaq Zargar alias Latram has reportedly been put under detention in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir for carrying out grenade attacks on separatist leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

A spokesman of the outfit in the valley, identified as Rafiq Dar, told Srinagar-based news agencies that if their commander was not released by Monday, the outfit would announce a strike in the valley.

Zargar is one of the three militants released in exchange for passengers of the Indian Airlines plane IC 814 hijacked in 1999.

His outfit is believed to have carried out a grenade attack outside the office of a senior Kashmiri separatist leader in the valley recently.
