Britain warns nationals in Pak to remain on alert

British High Commission on Wednesday warned its citizens living and working in Pakistan to remain alert and take safety measure for their protection in the wake of serious threats to British interests in the country.

"The British High Commission (embassy) has decided to close all our visa sections in Pakistan for the time being in response to a number of very recent threats to British interests," the mission said in a note to British citizens.

"The British High Commission cannot judge the authenticity of the threats but is taking them seriously," the note added.

The note advised British citizens to exercise particular care over their personal security.

The measure was apparently taken in the wake of series of bomb blasts in Pakistan in the recent days.
