French defence minister in Karachi to visit blast injured

French Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie on Thursday arrived in Karachi, where 10 French nationals were killed in a suicide car bombing on Wednesday.

The minister visited the Agha Khan hospital where 10 French citizens were lying wounded, according to the Pakistani navy.

Sixteen people were killed and 24 wounded when an explosive-laden red Toyota Corolla-74 rammed into a Pakistani navy bus carrying French technicians to the Karachi shipyard.

Five Pakistanis and a woman were also killed in the blast.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
