US military plane shot at in Pakistan

A US military transport aircraft was shot at in southern Pakistan on Tuesday when it was on its way to an airfield used in the military campaign in neighbouring Afghanistan.

"The pilot of the C-130 aircraft has reported to Pakistani authorities that he saw some firing towards his aircraft on his way to Jacobabad from an airbase in Oman," a police officer said.

"Police immediately launched an investigation and has detained two people on suspicion," he said.

The aircraft was not hit in the incident.
