"The US doesn't want India to be strong and rise in stature by acknowledging that Pakistan abets cross-border terrorism," Abdullah said at a function in Jammu on Friday evening.
"How can they expect India to forge friendship with a country that breeds terrorism?" he asked adding the world must be made aware about the sinister designs of Pakistan's ISI to bleed India's pluralistic society.
"India becoming a major power in the world is an eyesore both for China and the US. Had the former really been a well wisher of India, it would have cooperated in opening a road to Mansarovar via Leh," he said.
Abdullah claimed that the Kashmir issue could have been solved at the time of signing of the Simla Accord as the country was in a 'position to dictate terms' with over 90,000 Pakistani Prisoners of War, but for some 'unwise counselling by bureaucrats' to the then prime minister Indira Gandhi.
Pointing out that border tension has rendered a huge population homeless and threatened their survival, he urged the Centre to evolve a policy to solve this problem.
