Pakistan seeks clarifications on LoC
situation from Indian envoy

Hoping for a change of mind by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee about holding talks with President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan on Tuesday called Indian High Commissioner to Islamabad V K Nambiar and sought clarifications on Indian troop movement across the Line of Control (LoC) and reasons behind the tough-talking done by some Indian leaders on Indo-Pak ties.

Diplomatic sources herein Islamabad Nambiar met Pakistan Foreign Secretary Inamul Haq and discussed the latest developments along the LoC following exchange of fire since October 15.

At the meeting, the Pakistan foreign secretary presented a demarche, a diplomatic terminology to seek clarifications, and sought to know from Nambiar the background of the recent tough statements and additional troop as well as air force movements on the Indian side.
