10 militants killed in Kashmir: AFP

Army troops killed 10 militants in Kashmir, officials said in Srinagar Saturday.

A police spokesman said the suspected guerrillas were killed in separate gun battles in the past 24 hours.

Three militants were killed in the southern district of Rajouri early on Saturday, a police spokesman said.

Indian troops shot dead five more militants in adjoining Poonch district late Friday night, the official said, adding that that three were killed when they crossed the border from Pakistan.

Two other militants were gunned down elsewhere in Kashmir on Friday night, he said.

Three civilians, including an abducted woman, were killed by suspected guerrillas during the period, the spokesman added.
