In an attempt to scotch all speculations that the AIADMK and BJP were warming up to each other, BJP president Jana Krishnamurthy told reporters in Chennai that the DMK was its ally in the state and was also represented in the Union Cabinet.
The rumours were fanned by AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa offering unequivocal support for Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance and declaring that it would offer issue based support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, he said.
"Support on specific issues, whether from the AIADMK or by (West Bengal chief minister) Buddhadev Bhattacharya or (Karnataka chief minister) S M Krishna, is always welcome," Krishnamurthy said.
