Musharraf invites Vajpayee for meeting in New York

Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf has invited Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for a meeting with him on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York in September, it was officially announced in Delhi on Sunday night.

Musharraf's invitation was conveyed by High Commissioner to India Ashraf Jehangir Qazi who called on Foreign Secretary Chokila Iyer on Friday evening, a external affairs ministry spokesperson said.

Vajpayee told reporters in Lucknow on Sunday that he would meet Musharraf during his New York visit and discuss Kashmir and other bilateral issues.
