A Pakistan-based terrorist group has vowed to defy the military government and continue to collect funds from the public in the Sindh province, Online news agency reported on Friday.
Al-Badr, one of the many groups whose offices were raided by the Pakistani police this week, said it would not stop collecting 'jihad funds' through charity boxes placed at mosques, shops and streets.
"We have decided to launch a 'Jihad Fund' campaign throughout the province," Sindh Al-Badr chief Habib Saad Siddiqi said.
"Charity boxes will remain placed at shops and streets despite the government ban," he added. "The people of Pakistan will never forgive the government if it does not desist from its anti-jihad policies."
Habib warned that the government's crackdown on jihadi groups "has created unrest among the mujahideen and Kashmiri people".
"The government should publicly apologise for its actions," he said.
