Curfew in Rajouri following students' clash

Two students were seriously injured following a clash between members of two communities and subsequent police firing in Rajouri, in Jammu region on Saturday.

The army was deployed and indefinite curfew was imposed.

Police said the students clashed at Degree College in the afternoon. The police opened fire when the situation worsened. Farooq Ahmed and Murtaza Shah, who were injured, had to be air-lifted to a hospital for treatment.

The clashing groups damaged the college building, while another group targeted government offices in Rajouri. The district authorities then imposed curfew and deployed troops as the situation was tense.
