Five Pak saboteurs, priest arrested in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir police have nabbed five saboteurs who were involved in masterminding the attack on a camp of pilgrims in Jammu on their way to the Amarnath cave shrine on August one this year.

Inspector General of Police (Jammu zone) R V Raju told reporters in Jammu on Thursday evening that of the five arrested saboteurs, three were residing in Jammu and two in Doda districts.

A fidayeen (suicide bomber) was killed on August one this year when the militants were making their escape after carrying out the attack on Amarnath pilgrims.

Police have also arrested a head granthi (Sikh priest). Raju said that the granthi Man Mohan Singh, was arrested from Jammu.

One pistol and some Improvised Explosive Devices, allegedly hidden by him in a religious complex, were also recovered.

Raju said Man Mohan Singh was assigned the task of eliminating important personalities in Jammu and carrying out blasts at crowded places. He was given the pistol, IED and Rs 25,000 by another Sikh militant Manjeet Singh, he added.

Raju said that police have got some concrete clues that a nexus between Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence and Sikh secessionist outfit Khalistan Zindabad Force has been established to carry out subversive activities in J&K.

"We have foiled a number of such plans of these militants by arresting a number of KZF activists in the recent past,'' he said adding that some more arrests were expected in the near future.

He told the reporters that the SOG killed a Pakistani militant and guide in Nikki Tawi area on Thursday. He was involved in carrying out several subversive activities in the state.
