Navratri Events On Two DaysATLANTA Several Indian American organizations including IACA, ICRC and AVS, are joining hands to host the Navratri events on October 15 and 16 here. With live music by Raj Pandya Group, the evening will have garba and dandiya raas. Festivities begin at 8 pm. Events are scheduled at Ramada Inn and Conference Center, 418 Armour Circle, Midtown Atlanta. Admission is free for IACA members; otherwise, it costs $ five per person per day. Dealing With BatterersATLANTA A series of free workshops for South Asian Women to learn, share, and celebrate their journeys is being organized by Raksha. "Note these meetings are meant for women who want to either offer support or provide support to other women," one of the organizers said. The event is on October 10, 1999 from 1 pm to 4 pm, training is offered to deal with batterers. Between October 11 and 15, there will be a free training course for volunteers and community members who interested in working with batterers or learning more why people batter.
