Summer Activities for Indian American YouthA slew of activities dealing with youth leadership, education and study of stereotyped images in the mainstream media have been planned this summer for interns and young professionals to network, to learn leadership and activism skills, to meet Indian American business and political leaders, and to learn about the challenges that face the Indian American community. Organized by the India Abroad Center for Political Awareness, the activities are open to the public and are free. "The goal is to develop young Indian American citizen-leaders who have the skills, knowledge, and resources to create positive change for their organizations, communities, and the country," according to a press statement.
All events begin at 6:30 pm. For more information, check www.iacfpa.org or mail iacfpa@iacfpa.org or write to India Abroad Center for Political Awareness, 1275 K Street, NW / Suite 810 Washington, DC 20005; phone (202)289 3654, fax (202) 289 5007.
