Sangamam '99 in MarylandA cultural extravaganza, Sangamam '99, will offer a variety of popular music and skits on July 10 between 5 pm and 9 pm. The events take place at Murugan Temple in Lanham, Maryland. Organized by the AIMS Cultural Academy, the evening starts with music by Yugendran, followed by a cultural extravaganza consisting of Kalayanam... Kutcheri, a skit by Latha Kannan and group, a Paattukku Paattu competition involving Raj Balaje, Yugi and Devan, followed by Oru Indhiya Kanau, a skit by Venkatesh Babu and Group. Yugendran's music will continue between 8 pm and 9 pm. Tickets, $ 20, $ 10 and $ 5. One ticket free for every five tickets purchased. Prizes offered at the event include a vacation to Florida for two. Address: Murugan Temple, 6300 Princess Garden Pkwy, Lanham, Maryland. Directions to the venue: On I-95 (also 495, capital Beltway), take exit 20 A (Rt.450 East). Follow the signs to Princess Garden Parkway. Road takes a U-turn to the left. After the U-turn, turn right onto the Princess Garden Parkway. The Murugan temple is on your left within half a mile (6300 Princess Garden Parkway).
