Snow in the North

Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, and at isolated places in the hills of west Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Cold-wave conditions prevailed in parts of Orissa, Bihar, north-east Uttar Pradesh, north-central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Telangana.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of Saurashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and north interior Karnataka, and below normal in Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

They were appreciably above normal in parts of Haryana and Punjab, and above normal in parts of Kashmir and Gujarat.

They were normal in the rest of the country except for Arunachal Pradesh and Kerala from where data were sparse.
