In addition, Swami Dayananda travels widely offering discourses. The 14-year-old Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, patterned on the ancient gurukulums in India, is the first of its kind outside of India and offers Indians and Westerners an opportunity to study the spiritual knowledge of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Brahma-sutras, and other classical Vedic texts. The gurukulam offers short and long term programs of study for guest and resident students of all ages. Apart from Vedanta, programs are organized on topics like Vedic astrology, Ayurveda, meditation and yoga. The gurukulam also publishes home study programs such as the Bhagavad Gita Home Study. The gurukulam is located amidst a serene setting in the Pocono Mountains, at Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. The campus includes a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Dakshinamurti, considered the first teacher of Vedic knowledge. The gurukulam does not charge tuition for Vedanta programs but welcomes donations. For the residential course, registration, $ 100; lodging and meals, $ 300 per month per single room;$ 500 per month per couple and $ 150 per month per person for commuters.
