Sonia favours Christians, charges ThackerayShiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Thursday alleged that Sonia Gandhi favoured Christians and should be checked. "We will not allow her to become prime minister'', he declared in Nashik. Thackeray also reiterated his stand on the Babri Masjid issue, saying that to assuage the feelings of both communities, a mandir and masjid should be erected or a national monument to Mangal Pande, be built at the site. Thackeray was speaking at a public meeting to campaign for party candidate Rajaram Godse. He condemned Sonia in the strongest possible terms, calling her a foreigner meddling in India's internal affairs. "We will not tolerate her," he asserted. Thackeray claimed he had no enmity with the Nehru family. However, now that she had entered politics, he said, Sonia would have to face the music. UNI |
