Tatas meet Karnataka government on airport project

Email this report to a friend

Tata Industries Limited and the Karnataka government will take up a joint study in connection with revival of the much-talked-about Rs 15 billion Bangalore International Airport project.

At the meeting held in Bangalore on Tuesday, the Tata management and Karnataka government officials acknowledged "there are some vital issues affecting the viability of the project" which needs to be addressed in the joint study.

The Tatas brought to the notice of the Karnataka government that delays in laying down the basic parameters of the project and communicating approvals by the Government of India has "eroded the project's viability" and led to consortium partners to reconsider their interest in the project.
