Following Pakistan's footsteps in reacting to Indian Army chief's recent remarks, US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne Patterson has said that the remarks made by General Deepak Kapoor weer "silly".
General Kapoor had commented on a possibility of a limited war between India and Pakistan.
While Pakistan has called the remark irresponsible, Patterson also followed suit. She said India and Paksitan must continue with the talks to ensure progress and peace, the Dawn News reported.
There is enormous potential for economic progress if India and Pakistan got together.
The countries have complementary markets and commercial implications of the good relations between them are enormous, she said to Dawn News.
She also said that US would be interested in addressing the Balochistan issue if Pakistan presented evidence of Indian involvement in the region as it has been claiming.
Patterson lauded Pakistan's efforts in fighting the Taliban terrorists and said the country had made "huge sacrifices" in the war.
Refuting allegations made by India and other US experts that Pakistan was diverting the aid money towards terrorism, she said she was confident about Paksitan spending the money only for development in the war-torn regions of Waziristan.
