The rangeela factor

Urmila Matondkar. Click for bigger pic!
Urmila's found better hunk company than Ramgopal Verma.

Current flame is Kamal Sadanah and the duo look one unlikely couple. Sadanah's past conquests include Pooja Bhatt, Raveena Tandon, Ritu Shivpuri,33 all of who moved into his bungalow. And out.

Kamal's unique charm is his little lost boy routine and its surprising how many girls fall for it. Maybe they just find it convenient to fall for the line and pat his head, saying, There, there and other such nonsense.

Urmila has not shifted into his bungalow yet, but might.

And Ramgopal Verma? The director who made Urmila? When we find out we'll let you know.

The Kapoor charisma

Rishi Kapoor. Click for bigger pic!
Rishi Kapoor claims he has had his fill of the crowds gawking at the shoot of his first directorial venture, Aa Ab Laut Chalen. Which, by the way, is doing better in New York than Sunny Deol's London in London.

The visitors at the AALC shoot aren't there to gape at Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai, though no one could fault them for that. The Indian fans are actually there to see Rishi Kapoor who, despite grumbling that the fans keep messing up his schedule, doesn't really mind them massaging his ego.

When Khan weds Ali...

Salman Khan. Click for bigger pic!
Salman Khan has leaked the news of his impending marriage to Somy Ali so many times that magazines who care to, put the story to bed before meeting him -- on the off chance that he may accidentally say something new, even interesting. They haven't forgotten how he said the same thing about Sangeeta Bijlani. And look how that ended.

But this time it seems Khan's might really be making some progress towards the altar. He has recently been collecting details of Ali's stay in India and her films, details required to have nor take on Indian citizenship. Perhaps, this is the first step towards legally marrying her. Perhaps.

Big discomfiture at little dispensary

Sridevi. Click for bigger pic!
Darned disconcerting, meeting your husband's second wife when he hasn't divorced you yet.

Mona Kapoor (wife of Boney) must have felt it all when she ran into Sridevi at the doctor's dispensary. Not surprisingly really. Evidently the doctor is someone Boney trusts and Mona's son fell ill on the same day as Sridevi's daughter. Mmmm, could be genetic...

Witnesses say both mothers carried themselves with dignity, only the doctor was flustered. He was confused enough to tell Mona she should have informed him before coming. Mona didn't turn a hair though.

She's had enough of her husband and is reportedly already seeing someone else. The modern moral goes that if husband can philander, the wife too can wander. In these times of sexual equality, at least.

The Bedi sapna

The rumours linking Rajiv Kapoor and Sapna Bedi (Itihaas, Border), we hear, were more a case of wishful thinking on Sapna's part. They have reportedly met just thrice yet.

Observers recall that after a trial show of Border, Kapoor was returning home with friends when Sapna sought him for a lift. He told her that there was family he had to drop in the backseat and a driver beside him. Logically, there shouldn't have been place for her. But Bedi suggested that she could sit on his lap, much to the mortification of the driver and the family in the rear. We don't know what Kapoor thought. Gentlemen, you know, never tell.

The Mithun magic

Mithun Chakraborty. Click for bigger pic!
Mithun Chakraborty is turning one big capitalist. He's making money in his business and his movies. And doesn't look like he has any Marxist chip lingering on his shoulder.

His current crop of movies are quickies, made by producers who swear by him. And they are doing very well in the smaller centres.

So while Bollywood pundits ponder over whether Mrityudaata and Border make it, Chakraborty quietly keeps clocking hit after hit. All he needs is some young Southern hopeful to play second lead. And there are no shortage of those.

The snap schedules of these quickie films also give Chakraborty time to concentrate on his hospitality business.

Clearly, while eating his cake, Chakraborty is also having it. And, if they wish, old Naxal colleagues too can eat cake.
