Sonali Bendre
Sonali and Goldie Behl's D-Day
The Bachchans and Kapoors will grace the private wedding ceremony

Subhash K Jha

They met for the first time on the sets of Mahesh Bhatt's Angaaray, which Goldie Behl and his sister Shristhi produced for their illustrious father filmmaker Ramesh Behl's banner Rose Movies. Sonali Bendre was the female lead of the movie.

Since then, the shy Sonali and the doubly shy Goldie have been a couple. Friends envied their unshakeable togetherness. And rumours of a rift because of Goldie's directorial debut Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai not doing well, were quelled quickly.

Now, one of filmdom's most inseparable couples have decided to make their relationship legal. On the morning of November 12, Goldie and Sonali will marry at a very private ceremony attended only by close friends and family, including the Bachchans, the Kapoors and Dimple Kapadia.

In the evening, the couple will throw a party for all their friends and relatives.

Though neither Goldie or Sonali are willing to talk about the event, people close to the couple confirm that Sonali intends to continue pursuing acting after marriage.

Sonali will move into the Behl residence to join Goldie's widowed mother and younger sister. The Behl residence has been filled with the noise of carpenters and masons readying Goldie and Sonali's room. His elder sister Shristhi moved out after marriage to cinematographer Samir Arya.

The film world seems flush with births, marriages and happy occasions. While Shristhi and Samir Arya had a baby boy, Veer, so did Shristhi's best friend Twinkle Khanna and her husband Akshay Kumar. Another couple Ashutosh Rana and Renuka Shahane were also blessed with a baby boy.

Meanwhile, Madhuri Dixit prepares to be a mother the coming April.

Marriages and engagements also seem to be on the cards. While Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor decided to formalise their five-year old relationship with an engagement, Abhishek's best friend Goldie (who, incidentally, is ready to direct his second film to be produced by his home banner and scripted by Anurag Kashyap) is marrying Sonali.

In fact, Goldie's engagement to Sonali was announced at Abhishek's father Amitabh Bachchan 60th birthday bash a month ago.
