Malayalam editor Sankunni dies

Well-known Malayalam film editor K Sankunni died early Wednesday morning following a heart attack, his family said.

He was 60. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Sankunni edited about 900 films, including some in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada and Hindi.

Some BO hits edited by him in Malayalam include New Delhi, Gauravam, Sangam, Naayar Saab and Godman.

He won the Kerala State Film Award as Best Editor in 1988 for New Delhi, the Cine Technicians' Award in 1991 for Gauravam, the Matrubhumi Award for the year 1999-2000 and the Kerala Film Critics' Award for the same year for the film, Patram.
