Some guys have all the luck.
Some guys also have all the charm.
Akshay Kumar is one of them.
No wonder people fall for him -- his genuineness and his largeheartedness are well known in the industry.
Close friends of Rajesh Khanna reveal how Akshay was the only person concerned about his father-in-law's IT problems. Not only did he attend most of the meetings with the accountants, he is also said to have cleared some of his father-in-law's debts, too.
What's more, most of it was done without Khanna's knowledge. No wonder Akshay Kumar won over papa-in-law's heart. And, with that one gesture, won the admiration and trust of Twinkle Khanna who was ready to take the plunge anytime Akshay Kumar wanted her to.
Salman's pet peeve!
Now one man totally peeved with Sooraj Barjatya is Salman Khan.
Close friends of the Khan insist that the reason is because Barjatya excluded him from the cast of his new film. What's more, Sooraj opted for Abhishek Bachchan in a role that suited Salman very well.
But insiders from the Rajshri Productions camp attribute one of the reasons for Salman's exclusion as his boorish behaviour through the making of Hum Saath Saath Hain, soon followed by the black buck incident, which brought the Rajshri Productions folk a lot of notoriety.
And, superstitious as they are, buzz goes that the Rajshris even attribute the not-so-great success of HSSH to the killing of the black buck.
Now, here's an actress who's rarin' to go!
Gone is her lethargy, her sluggishness -- that's ever since Pooja Bhatt signed on Rahul Bose's new film, in which he also makes his debut as director.
Taking a cue, Pooja is now set to face the camera all over again. She's rumoured to have told a close friend that she was capable of better stuff than what she has done so far and it was Rahul who made realise this.
Trouble in La Dixitland?
Even though she ran the risk of gossip mongers letting loose their tongues that her marriage is on the rocks Madhuri Dixit Nene sat put in Bollywood all through the Christmas 2000 and on New Year's Eve.
The reason: She had to complete the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.
One costar heard this and commented, "Madhuri hasn't changed one bit. She is so professional. But look at it this way: She is kanjoos. Obviously, Sanjay Bhansali had paid for her ticket. She wouldn't have wanted to spend her own money and fly down... now would she?"
Hubby okay, world be damned!
She has long been at the receiving end of negative publicity. Every time Meenakshi Seshadri makes a trip down to India to meet her parents, the buzz goes that her marriage is on the rocks.
"Just because some people are going to talk rubbish does not mean that I am not going to come down to meet my parents," says a rather agitated Meenakshi, who is once again in India for her annual vacation with her three-year-old daughter, Kendra.
To keep in touch with her art, Meenakshi does squeeze in time for a few classical dance performances too, which only adds fuel to the fire. Not that she cares -- as long as hubby dearest has no problems, the world can hang itself!
