Implementation of the revised syllabus

The rationale: The Institute has two key governing bodies: the governing council (12 members) comprising members of the Information and Broadcast Ministry and prominent personalities like Vir Sanghvi, Girish Karnad, Mani Ratnam, Kiran Karnik.

Then there is the Academic Council (14 members) which consists of the director, Mohan Agashe, deputy director Mehboob Khan, two students, some members of the faculty and some industry persons.

This does not refer to the current syllabus. The revised syllabus was designed by the faculty, student representatives, working professionals and ex-FTII graduates.

It was then sent to prominent people from the industry, and was approved. Unfortunately, it was stalled because of non-availability of infrastructure and resources.
