After making his mark at the international level, South African batting sensation Jean Paul Duminy is now eager to take part in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).

Duminy, who played a crucial role in South Africa's Test series triumph in Australia, said although he was not thinking too far ahead, he wants to take part in the IPL.

"I would like to be a part of the Indian Premier League or county cricket set-ups, but I don't want to look too far forward and rather concentrate on the last three games of the current ODI series," the 24-year-old said on Wednesday.

The left-hander said the success against Australia has added to his confidence and encouraged him to perform better in future.

"I have taken a lot of confidence out of this series. It is a very special moment to come to Australia and to perform as well as I have done so far. It is something I will cherish for the rest of my life and hopefully, if I come back here again, it will be the same thing again.

"It is probably mainly in my mental approach to the game that I have changed. It is something that I have lacked in the past. I came on this tour thinking that I would not get a Test game," Duminy said.

"Obviously it worked out differently and I am very pleased that I have got three Test matches behind my name now and I look forward to up-and-coming games," Duminy, who has accumulated 246 runs from three Tests, said.

"I have always felt part of the Test team. I have travelled around the world with them for more than 12 months and the guys have made me feel very welcome. It is obviously a better feeling to play but I have never felt anything other than welcome," he added.

Duminy rejected suggestions that complacency might get the better of him after the creditable show in Australia, saying the success will only make him more hungry.

"I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. There is a time for everything. The way things have turned out is probably the best way I could ask for. It has made me hungrier to keep scoring runs and to keep my name in the pool," Duminy said.

"The main thing I have learned about myself is that I am able to compete at this level as there was always that doubt in my mind, not having played a Test match. Now the belief is there and I feel that I am part of the set-up," Duminy stated.
