India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat in the fourth and final Test against Australia in Nagpur on Thursday.

Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay was handed his Test debut. He replaces Gautam Gambhir, who was handed a one-Test ban for elbowing Shane Watson during the third Test in Delhi.

Harbhajan Singh, who missed the last match due to injury, made it back to the team in place of the retired Anil Kumble.

This will be Sourav Ganguly's final Test, while VVS Laxman is playing his 100th.

Australia also opted for two spinners in debutant Jason Krejza and Cameron White, the former coming in for pacer Stuart Clark.

The match is being played at the newly-constructed stadium in Jamtha, 16 kms away from the city.

India lead the series 1-0 after the 320-run victory in the second Test in Mohali.
