# Virat Kohli (54 off 66 balls) posted his first half-century in Limited-Overs Internationals, bettering his previous best of 37 against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on August 20, 2008.

# During the course of his innings of 71, Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the leading run-getter this year - 954 at an average of 68.14 in 23 ODIs, including one century and seven fifties, eclipsing Gautam Gambhir's tally of 933 at an average of 49.10 in 22 games.

# Dhoni's 24th half-century (71 off 80 balls) is his 7th against Sri Lanka.

# Suresh Raina's third half-century against Sri Lanka is his seventh fifty.

# Raina (76 off 78 balls) posted his best score against Sri Lanka, bettering his 54 at Karachi on July 3, 2008.

# Jayasuriya's 13th fifty against India is his 66th fifty.

# Suresh Raina's first Man of the Match award against Sri Lanka is his fifth in ODIs.

# India, for the first time, have registered victories in three Limited-Overs Internationals in a row against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.

# India's series win by 3-1 margin is their first bilateral series win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.

# For the first time, Sri Lanka have lost two successive bilateral series in Sri Lanka.  They had lost to England by 2-3 in 2007-08.

# Thilan Thushara (5/47) recorded his best ever bowling performance - his first five-wicket haul.

# Thushara is the first Sri Lankan bowler to bag five wickets in an innings against India in Sri Lanka, bettering Sanath Jayasuriya's bowling figures of 4 for 18 at Colombo, SSC on July 1, 1998.

# Overall, Thushara is the fifth Sri Lankan to claim five wickets or more in an innings against India, joining Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Chaminda  Vaas and Graeme Labrooy.

# Vaas is the fourth bowler after Wasim Akram (502), Muttiah Muralitharan (479) and Waqar Younis (416) to capture 400 wickets or more in ODIs - his victim being Yuvraj Singh.

# Vaas (2008 runs + 400 wickets) is now the fourth all-rounder to accomplish the double of 2000 runs and 300 wickets in ODIs - the other three being Sanath  Jayasuriya (12784 runs + 310 wickets), Wasim Akram (3717 runs + 502 wickets) and Shaun Pollock (3519 runs + 393 wickets).
