The Rawalpindi Express

There are few more pleasureable sights in the game of cricket than a fast bowler starting at the top of his run-up and then charging in towards the batting crease.

The batsman lies in wait of another lightning delivery. The ball whizzes in, and before he knows, his stump is cartwheeling towards the wicket-keeper.

Really, fast bowlers are hard to find; and not since Jeff Thompson has the world seen a bowler as quick as Shoaib Akhtar.

The Pakistani speedster bowled the fastest ever delivery - 100.04 mph in the third one-day international against New Zealand in Lahore on Saturday, April 27.
