Mahindra BT ties up with Axiom

Mahindra British Telecom, a leading software systems development and consulting organisation has entered into an agreement with Axiom Inc, (previously known as Securicor Telesciences Inc) of the US, the leading billing mediation solutions provider to offer billing mediation solutions in India.

MBT is already a software development partner of Axiom.

The MBT-Axiom billing mediation solutions will enable telecommunications operators (such as the DoT, MTNL, VSNL and emerging private operators) to collect usage data from different generations of wire line, wireless, cable and Internet switches into one integrated data collection infrastructure.

All modern telephone switches generate details of telephone (such as time, duration, source, destination and routes through which the call is switched) electronically.

Medication Systems will electronically collect usage date from different switches, handle local formatting and interface issues, check and rectify errors and consolidate the data for processing.

The enterprise view of the data, is further processed for specific business requirements such as billing, marketing fraud analysis and business planning and finally, the required usage data is delivered to the specific business application systems in the correct format.

MBT and Axiom will also co-operate in building solutions around the products for telecom service providers around the world.

MBT is a joint venture set up in 1988 between M&M and British Telecommunications PLC of UK, and provides software development, consulting and system integration solutions.

MBT is currently working with large overseas telecommunications companies in building operational service systems over the years, MBT has delivered software solutions to the leading telecommunications companies, such as BT, Singapore Telecom and MCI.
