Rupee falls to lifetime low of 81.18 to USD

Rupee falls 39 paise to all-time low of 81.18 against US dollar in early trade. The US Federal Reserve had raised the repo rate by 75 basis points, in line with expectations. The Fed also hinted that more rate hikes were coming and that these rates would stay elevated until 2024.
