Sharmistha Mukherjee meets Sheikh Hasina

Sharmistha Mukherjee tweets: "Called on Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina. Long association between the two families. She wud always say that my father was like a guardian 2 her family. Now in his absence, she is being the same for me May God grant her a long & healthy life."

Sharmistha Mukherjee is a Congress leader and the daughter of the former President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

She wore a Dhakai Jamadani sari in honour of the occasion.

Sheikh Hasina began her four-day visit to India on September 6 as Bangladesh is an important partner under India's "Neighbourhood First" policy.
