Delhi weekend curfew to stay for now, says Lieutenant Governor's office.

The LG's office agreed to 50% attendance in private offices but suggested that status quo be maintained with regards to weekend curfew and opening of markets. A decision will be taken on the subject once the COVID situation improves further. 

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had sent a recommendation to Lt Gov Anil Baijal to end weekend curfew.

In the proposal, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also asked to remove the odd-even system in the markets & to allow private offices to operate at 50% capacity.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Friday asserted that the COVID-19 situation in the national capital is in control, and said the virus was the primary cause of death in only three of the 43 fatalities recorded the previous day. 

 The national capital is expected to record 10,500 cases on Friday with a positivity rate of 17 to 18 per cent, he said.
