The Kerala High Court has asked the Centre to enable the scheduling of the second Covishield dose after four weeks from the first for those who want to take it early. The gap between the two doses at present is 84 days.

The Central government had submitted in the Kerala High Court last week  that the duration of 84 days between 1st and 2nd doses of Covishield vaccine is providing the best protection against COVID-19.

India reported 38,948 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to 3,30,27,621, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Of the 38,948 new cases, Kerala alone has reported 26,701 cases in the last 24 hours. The trend of less than 50,000 daily new cases is being reported for 71 consecutive days now.
