Gita Gopinath tweets this picture of a 'fun pre-Diwali' evening with (L to R) Iqbal Dhaliwal, global executive director of  Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, former RBI chief Raghuram Rajan and Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee and his wife Esther Duflo.

The IMF's Chief Economist, Gita Gopinath, will leave her job in January next year and return to the prestigious Harvard University. Mysuru-born Gopinath is the first-ever woman chief economist of the IMF.

Interestingly, Rajan was also Chief Economist and Director of Research at the IMF between 2003 and 2006.
