UP extends Covid lockdown by a week till May 17

Amid growing coronavirus cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday decided to increase the duration of the lockdown to May 17, an official spokesman said.

All shops and establishments will now remain closed till May 17, he said.

This arrangement has been extended for a week, he said adding that decision has been taken to break the chain of second wave of coronavirus that persists to grip the country.
