Crowds, chaos at Mumbai's BKC vax centre

Even as the Supreme Court recommended that the Centre take notes from the "Mumbai model" to try and ensure oxygen supplies to Delhi, chaos reigns at this vaccination centre in Mumbai.

People gather in large numbers outside the BKC Jumbo COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in Mumbai. "Nothing is organised here. Even queues are not formed properly," says Rajshekhar Upadhyaya, a local.

Yesterday, the BMC opened its first drive-in vaccination facility. Located at Dadar West, at the Kohinoor Parking lot, the vaccination centre has 7 rooms and will vaccinate those above 45 years of age who are eligible for their second dose of Covishield.
