Farmers in Akhnoor's Marh in Jammu and Kashmir say they have switched to farming litchis from paddy farming. "Litchis have helped increase our income. Each plant has fruit bearing capacity of 60-70 kg, expected to go up to 1.5-quintal in next 4-5 yrs. We did not benefit as much with wheat and paddy farming," a farmer says.
