'Aung San Suu Kyi isn't a revolutionary'

"Aung San Suu Kyi is very wedded to the idea of the rule of law and whatever she has done to reform the constitution, she has worked within the ambit of the 2008 constitution.

"Secondly, don't forget, she is General Aung San's daughter who was the founder of the Burmese army.

"On the Rohingya issue she is completely with popular public opinion in Myanmar. On all these points, she's on the same ground as with the military," Gautam Mukhopadhaya, India's former ambassador to Myanmar, tells Rediff.com's Archana Masih. Read the interview here.
