Pentagon on lockdown after gunshots fired near Metro

The Pentagon, headquarters of the United States department of defense in Arlington, Virginia state, went into lockdown on Tuesday morning local time after multiple gunshots were fired near the facility's Metro station.

A Pentagon announcement said the facility was in lockdown due to "police activity."
