India and China have agreed to continue close consultations at diplomatic and military level. They agreed that the next (7th) round of meeting of Senior Commanders should be held at an early date so that both sides can work towards early and complete disengagement of the troops, the two countries decided at the meeting on Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination today.

The MEA said that India and China reviewed the current situation along the Line of Actual Control and had detailed discussions on developments since the last WMCC meeting on 20 August. The two sides attached importance to meetings between the two defence ministers and the two foreign ministers earlier this month.
