Venu Rajamony, ambassador to Netherlands, goes on farewell bicycle tour

Ambassadors come and ambassadors go, but they are seldom known to go on a bicycle tour ahead of their retirement.  

And that's exactly what Venu Rajamony, India's ambassador to the Netherlands, did, going on a farewell bicycle tour of The Hague along with mayor Jan van Zanen, former deputy mayor Rabin Baldewsingh, and member of Parliament Sven Koopmans.

Rajamony, who has been ambassador to Netherlands since June 2017, retires on Monday after more than three decades of serving on the diplomatic corps. 

Among the highlights of his career was serving as the press secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee, and paid a glowing tribute to him on Rediff.comhere.
